2008 - An Event to Remember!

Date: 12/08/2008

If ever there was worry about the Wisconsin winters you wouldn't have known it by attending this years Freeze for Life. With several hundreds in attendance and over 120 skiers pulled throughout the day, this years event brought warmth and joy to the community.

There were so many happy faces and smiles I couldn't imagine a better way to start  winter in what can sometimes be a long haul. Take refuge in the fact that next year we can welcome winter in the same way and create stories to share throughout the year.

A few I recall include a wet and wild Santa Claus, a swim trunk wearing pilot who skied the course with gumption, and a double barefoot display to end the show!

If you were there you know what I am talking about, and if you were not, think about next winter? Raise funds and set your price high. The skiing Santa, while he fell three times in route to being plucked from the 37 degree water, raised $1,000 to benefit the spectators and the cause.

Many thanks to all the sponsors, the city of Lake Geneva, and those in attendance. Let us not forget the message of community and fun, something that Kevin Waldeck shared with everyone he touched. It is in his honor that your donation is made to the American Cancer Society and the Kevin Waldeck Charitable Trust.
